Yay! A new camera after my old one was stolen. First group of pics taken over a month. Lots of learning. There were more pics. These are the best of the bunch.

Pic of the lens that comes wiht the camera, taken with my 60mm macro lens, as you can see it has a very shot depth of field / focus area at high magnifications.

The Eastborne ferry on it's way.

Further away.

Early morning sun streaming in behind the Wellington Container Port.

A closer shot of the Harbour Crane.

Hey look, there's Lisa... Nice to have you back Lis!

And that strange guy, some call him Gios, we call him #### :)

Rather large cat that appears at our wharf once and a while.

Boats at the container port.

Pic taken across the harbour.

The same shot taken again with the polarising lens. The polariser takes away all the scattered light which makes the clouds stand out from the sky.

Random guy in a boat. Nice reds.

One of a set 5. Taken at different zoom levels, 28mm

A 100% crop of the last image.

Obvious distortion from the standard lens at 28mm. The vinyetting at the top of the pic is from the polarising filter.

Long exposure. 1.5s. Water fountain on Frank Kitts Park. My first attempt at one of those silky water shots. There was far too much light that day to make it work.

Macro lens: The Spider Man figure on top of my monitor @ work. His heads about 15mm across

Going home on a Thursday night. A 2 second exposure.

Long exposure: 30s. Painting with light. This was achieved using a 30 second exposure and waving a couple of touches around.

Macro: The top of a Canna Lilly leaf. Again a very short depth of field.

Macro: The shoots of a Bottle Brush tree.

Macro: A 25% crop of the original image.

Macro: Parsley.

Macro: The top of an Iris Bud.

Macro: I have no idea what this is called. The purple thingie is a flower bud. It's about 20mm wide.

Macro: Stamens from a flower. They were about 1.5mm wide.

Long exposure: 30s. Painting with light using a LED torch.

Long exposure: 30s.

Long exposure: 30s. Stars.

Long exposure: 30s. The movement of the stars in the pic is due to the earths rotation.

Long exposure: 30s.

Wide angle lenses cause items in the foreground to look much larger than the items in the background.

Hey look, there I am :) Shot inspired by a book called: 'The Pentax Way'

Long exposure: 2s. Keith and I venture out to the Rimutuka Forrest Park. Look at that, silky water shots

Long exposure: 3s.

Long exposure: 2s.

Trees and stuff.

Keith's Radio controlled truck. it's fast! 70Km/h fast!

Daisy.

An interesting little character who turned up at our back door one day. Because of the insane behavior, we’ve given her the name 'Mental'

Mental on the prowl.

A trip to the Wellington Rockshop provided a few interesting things to take photos of. For those who can't tell. This is a Zildjian symbal.

Drum kits always have intersting finishes and this Premier kit was a great example. A pic of one of the Toms, I think it's a 14inch.

The 16inch floor tom.

That crazy guy Gios.
