Kapow History

Where did it all come from?

My friends had been talking about "Chilli Vodka". I was obsessed with the idea of making my own by mixing vodka and red chillies. Christmas was around the corner so I thought it would make a great gift for my cousin Ritesh.

I bought a bottle of vodka and a ton of red chillies and proceeded to shove them all into the bottle. After a week the once clear liquid had turned an amber colour, over time the colour became darker - The chillies had done their work!

All that was left was to make some labels. The goal was to make Ritesh think I had bought the chilli vodka from a store. The image on the left shows the label for the bottle. The box was an existing shape that I made a new cover for with all the Kapow branding.

Come Christmas time he totally believed that it was a product I had bought off the shelf and my work was done! Well for a while.

The next year I registered this domain name and started work on the site, and slowly working on the Kapow range and the branding.
